Joanna Project depends on the help we receive from our many valued volunteers.
We have volunteers that help with evening outreach, help manage the donations and our garage where we store donated items. We also have daytime volunteers who form part of our hospitality team by making women feel welcome, making snacks and drinks and chatting about whatever is important to them. There really is a role for everyone!

Volunteer Fundraising Assistant
We are looking for a dedicated, relationship-focused Volunteer Fundraising Assistant to work alongside our Grants and Fundraising Manager by helping us build commited relationships and research grant opportunities, you will directly contribute to securing the vital funds needed to provide sanctuary, hope, and long-term support for vulnrable women in Leeds. Volunteer Expression of Interest Form (Fundraising Assitant)
Joanna House Volunteer / Hospitality – ACTIVELY RECRUITING
Joanna House is open during the week as a sanctuary for women. Our skilled volunteers provide emotional and practical help; This role involves making cups of tea, cooking a meal and making sure the cake stand is fully stocked! Tuesday or Thursday afternoons 12:00-3:00pm

Joanna House Volunteer / Practical Support – ACTIVELY RECRUITING
Joanna House is open during the week as a place where women can come and get support. To this end we need help to make sure the house is always ready to welcome someone. This would include making sure that the washing is done and labelled appropriately, that the fridge is fully stocked and that the bathrooms are stocked with toiletries. You would be helping our staff team ensure there is always a warm welcome. You would also help prepare the outreach van ready for an evening outreach.

Nothing says “I care” like a homemade cake; we love to bless the women who come to Joanna House with homemade goodies. To do this we need a steady supply of cakes. Drop-off points in Cookridge and Holbeck.

Garden Angel – ACTIVELY RECRUITING
We have a beautifully designed established garden which needs maintaining. Duties include: mowing the lawn, general garden tidying, weeding gravel paths, seasonal planting etc. Individuals are welcome for this role as are larger groups. If you are part of an organisation or church that would like to come and garden over the weekend then please let us know, this can be arranged!
