Volunteering
Joanna Project depends on the help we receive from our many volunteers. We call them angels.
We have Evening Outreach Angels, Garden Angels, Garage Angels, Sanctuary Angels, Secret Angels who pray. Some for a day a week, some a few hours a month. These are our current angel vacancies:
Baking Angel - ACTIVELY RECRUITING
Nothing says "I care" like a homemade cake; we love to bless the women who come to Joanna House with homemade baking. To do this we need a steady supply of cakes. Drop-off points in Middleton, Chapel Allerton, Headingley and Holbeck.
Evening Outreach Angel - ACTIVELY RECRUITING
Outreach Team: This is a team of frontline volunteers who go out in teams of three, providing food, hot drinks, friendship, support and prayer to the women who are out working. The team operates in Holbeck from our outreach van.
We are looking for reliable, friendly, warm-hearted volunteers so if that sounds like you please read the role description below. If you meet the requirements, please fill in the application form and we'll be in touch.
Sanctuary Angel - ACTIVELY RECRUITING
Joanna House is open during the week as a sanctuary for women. Our skilled staff provide emotional and practical help; this voluntary serving role supports them in whatever way is needed, responding graciously under pressure.
Administration Angel - NOT RECRUITING

Garage Angel
We store a quantity of helpful donated items that regularly need categorising, shelving and tidying. This is a physical role requiring some lifting in an external garage. Could you help us?
Garden Angel - NOT RECRUITING
We have a beautifully designed established garden which needs maintaining. Duties: mowing the lawn, general garden tidying, weeding gravel paths, seasonal planting etc.
Can you support us?
Our work depends on volunteers, donations and fundraising
